Welcome to the South Cheshire Radio Control Society

SCRCS model flying club has been operating for over 40 years and is based near Middlewich in Cheshire. The club has approximately 60 members and is a welcoming and friendly club whose members span those of ‘man and boy’ flying experience through to newcomers and returners to the hobby.

We are predominantly a fixed wing club and fly a broad mixture of models from small foam ARTF’s up to some quite substantial models built in the traditional way from kits or plans. Electric and IC powered models are welcome and we have 365 days a year flying – see the Flying Dates & Times page for details.

Our club focusses on providing a model flying environment which is relaxed and sociable whilst being safe and well organised. We fly from a level grass strip at our field near Middlewich and the strip is well maintained and mown/ rolled frequently throughout the flying season to give a facility that’s suitable for a wide variety of models.

Our annual membership fee is very competitive and we currently don’t charge a joining fee for new members.

Within the club there is a good depth of experience of all aspects of model building and a helpful atmosphere where someone will generally be able to help – no matter what the problem. In addition to meeting up at the flying field we have a social evening once a month for r/c flying chat.

Newcomers to the hobby of all ages and abilities are welcome and we have a number of volunteer instructors within the club who will provide free tuition in line with the BMFA’s achievement scheme – see the ‘Beginners’ page for more details.

Model flying is a great hobby – the outdoor air, great chat and banter with like-minded characters and lots and lots of tea drinking (and not forgetting the flying too……)
